RAPHAEL SAADIQ show @ the WILTERN 11/20/09

Raphael Saadiq is probably one of the dopest underrated musicians in the past 20 years. This dude GOES IN on every album he’s ever worked on. His last album “The Way I See It” was slept on, make sure to cop that album if you have the chance or better yet, see him live like my girl and I did this past weekend. He had a show at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, so my girl decided to buy some tickets. The show was worth every penny and then some. I felt like was watching something that belonged back in the Motown era, very vintage but with a new twist. Anjulie, the canadian singer that opened for Raphael Saadiq, is also worth checking out. Raphael and his band had the steez and the swag, but they also had a lot of talent to go along with all that (somethin’ that a lot of new so-called artists are lackin nowadays). Check a “live” show every once in a while, you’re only as deep as the music you listen to. More pics and videos at this jump. To all the FACEBOOK users: You can see the videos on our website http://wwww.underthetablecrew.com

We parked on a structure right above a RALPHS & a DENNY’s… Pretty cool view.

The curtains were down. All you could hear was an old audio clip of Marvin Gaye singing the National Anthem. A red light pulsated through the curtains. And, then the curtains came up and the show just got crazy from that point on. Old Dance routines, wardrobe changes, etc…
