#Swag #Swag. Being avid fans of our various mixtapes (who woulda thought anyone actually listened to them? lol) the homies from Vans (OTW collection) were kind enough to lace the crew with some ill product from their recent line.

Big Fun Wednesday 2 Year Recap

This is the where last Wednesday nights MOVIE took place and the Wednesday night location for other films over the past 2 years. We were in for some BIG FUN (pause) with featured star none other than S.K.A.M. artists own Eric D-Lux. (pictures thru the lens of everyone)

To prepare for a night like this, we had no choice but to call for services of the Steven Segal/Navy Seals/S.W.A.T. team of designated drivers, our very own LFT aka Lawrence from Torrance aka Rerun.

Lush Lounger-ton

We linked up with our homies over at Uniiiq Agenda for a Friday/twice a month event at the new Lush Lounge in Long Beach. Dstrukt and myself had the pleasure of holding down the beats for the evening along with DJ Kangol.

The DJ Booth, 1200′s and a 57 with the turntables set up “mix” style. We had to make sure we didn’t accidentally hit the tonearm while cuttin’ it up or moving the pitch yaaa diggg?

Fast forward to 2 hours later and outside the club girls getting put in headlocks. That’s how they roll in Long Beach. Smh

Fast forward to 30 mins later and we end our night eating at the typical after hours joint.

Mandate lunch @ The Counter with Joe.U.Kno, Ben-Jammin’, LFT and myself. If you haven’t been here yet, the SAT questionnaire will have you contemplating for a minimum of 10 minutes. The end result should be to your liking because after all you did create your own burger. You can see I had to wuss out and go for the veggie patty because I gave up meat for lent…….yes pause. Still good nonetheless.

UTT Foodage Review: 4 out of 5 stars. (only because my veggie patty fell apart after the first bite and for the sad fact that= I GOT A VEGGIE PATTY)

Literally, after a weekend of NOT drinking, happy hour was a must to go over some biz with Joe.U.Kno, Boogs, D, and Dickhead David.

The sampler goes from your lights to your darks, with the darks being a lot thicker in consistency. By far the most disgusting of them all.

Skratch Sundays

Yesterday we were invited to showcase at the Skratch Sunday event that our buddies DJ Ever and Sammy Sam have recently started. The event headline was “Where a DJ can be a DJ”, and it sure lived up to that title and some.

Dstrukt fresh off the 5 hour car ride from San Josie.

The event took place @ Sage in Whittier. First time we’ve been to this spot. Don’t let the outside fool you.

Stage setup with 4 turntables (1200′s) 2 mixers (57′s). 2 gogo boxes if any of you aspiring “GOGO’s” wanna dance to some 70bpm beats with ahhh and fresh skratches.

The homie DJ Erbe starting the night off with a dope hip hop set with occasional cuts by DJ Ever. K-Fresh caught in a bad stance. lol

Cool LED background that jumped to the beat of every autobahn, boomerang, and spider skratch.

This past weekend, I held a BBQ at my pad for The Big 25. All I gotta say is, “What a night!”. Black Label + Captain Morgan + Johnny Walker + 2 bottles of Crown + 4 Liters of Sangria + shitloads of beer! = A FULL DAY OF HANGOVER! Yes. One whole day! You’re probably saying, “WTF were they thinking?” Well, what can I say? It was a Saturday night, with no work and no school the next day. Overall, it was a fun-filled night that left some people yacking all over the place. Thanks to Butch for leaving a mess on the side. Thanks Asato for leaving a mess on the bathroom rug. To Dustin, the picture says it all! As for me, I done stained my own carpet! Big ups to my girl and mamagoose for cleanin’ up after me. Thanks to everyone that came. And to those that didn’t, ya’ll missed out! But we’ll do it again next year.

When I’m not busy with work, school, or with anything, I like to go out and shop/dig for records. Yup! With serato being out for a while now, and the internet being the gateway for “digital digging”, there are just some things digital digging cannot take away from the “real digging” and that is that feeling you get when you find that one record only a few have. If you’re like me, and you like old classic shit, then you know what I’m talking about. I can go on with this, but I’ll leave it at that for now. I found a record store, that many might know, and many might not. I was there for only an hour (SMH) and that’s because I only had enough coins for the 1 hour parking meter. For that hour, I was in heaven and it was definitely a red light special moment.

Yup. Lots of records.

And lots more…you name it (rap, rnb, funk, soul, jazz, rock, movie soundtracks)
